With reference to the allocation plans LA001, LA002 and LA003 I object in full. Whilst it is important to provide adequate housing for the local community, these plans are unsustainable for the two villages affected. Furthermore, with reference to Barham and Claydon Parish Council’s comments, local comments regarding the proposed developments and consultation responses, the current environment and transport infrastructure cannot cope with such an increase of traffic and people.
Small, localised development is seen as a positive motion. These three plans are detrimental to village life.

Allocation of sites would result in substantial expansion of the settlement. Particular concerns over the potential impacts the on setting of nearby heritage assets. Concern allocation of these sites would erode the rural setting of the Church of St Mary and setting of Shrubland Hall RPAG which is already at risk. elevated position of the church and the open landscape enhances the prominence of the church and its role as a landmark. Lack of contextual information and apparent lack of evidence means the historic environment is vulnerable to inappropriate development. If, based on evidence, an allocation is possible, we would expect to see any issues raised in relation the historic environment addressed in the policies and supporting text in order that due consideration is given to the historic environment.
