Contains two major inaccuracies and gives a most misleading impression of the village. The Essex border is less than 2km from the centre of the village and the description of the village consisting of "primarily" 20th century residential development" is positively misleading even if numerically possibly correct.

The settlement is wholly within the AONB. SPS notes the inclusion of land to the north of the narrow stretch of the B1068 between School Street and Polstead Street adjacent to listed cottages. This land is within the conservation area and, in order to preserve the character of the conservation area, we consider it should remain outside the settlement boundary.

Request that the existing Village Envelope remains as it is in the iteration of the BMS JLP, and revisions only take place once the NP is adopted. This implies excluding, at this stage, SS0709 and SS0465. Concern that land at Clipt Bush area, may hamper any future aspirations for that part of the village. The actual site owned by developer is significantly larger.
