We have our own waste disposal site used by the villages on the peninsular and therefore believe that the levy to be paid to Portman road waste disposal site should go/be shared with said site. You have called Shotley Street a core village and yet Chelmondiston who have the same facilities and amenities is classed as a hinterland? We have a lot of outstanding beauty that surround the village as we are placedbetween both rivers, Stour and Orwell with a variety of wildlife and habitat which I do not think you have considered and should be respected and protected.

We were disappointed to find that our recommendation to include the land neighouring “Chapel Fields” had not been included at this stage and would like this to be re-considered as we would like to see it included on the final plan.

When the Parish Council undertook the many consultation stages which led to the delivery of affordable housing at Chapel Fields, an initial platform of twelve possible sites was reduced to one - this site. There is still not just a need but the appetite to deliver additional affordable housing, for which this site has provisionally been identified.

Shotley Parish Council would like to request that the condition pertaining to developer contributions towards the Ipswich Recycling Centre is completely removed from the Shotley specific section and/or substituted with “developer contributions towards the Chelmondiston waste facility”- which is more appropriate and site specific. Both Chelmondiston and Shotley Parish Councils are having to financially support this service due to recent external funding cuts, therefore it would be more beneficial if local developments contributed directly towards this facility than one ten miles away. Not only would it go some way towards meeting its current revenue expenditure but may facilitate further (much needed) expansion and diversification of the site.
