Highways: The development will significantly impact the existing infrastructure. Waldingfield Road is already heavily used and the footpath from Chilton Corner to Sudbury is too narrow and borders on dangerous. There is likely to be a significant increase in traffic at peak times due to traffic heading in both the Lavenham and Sudbury directions.

The development will place increased load on existing primary schools in the area, since the planned increase in schools provision is dependent on Chilton Woods which might not happen in a compatible timeframe.

Essential to coordinate the planning of this site with that of Chilton Woods for continuity of paths and green space.
We need a new route for pedestrians and cyclists across the airfield from Great Waldingfield and Acton to link with Springlands and Sudbury Upper School (currently Ormiston) as provisions are currently dangerously inadequate for routes that the county expect children to use to reach school.
Retention of features valuable to wildlife should be retained, eg mature hedges.

The site immediately abuts the Grade II listed Registered Park and Garden (RPAG) of Chilton Hall which itself contains the grade II* listed Chilton Hall as well the grade II boundary walls. In order to demonstrate that the allocation of this area is not incompatible with the requirements of the NPPF, as part of the Evidence Base underpinning the Plan there needs to be an assessment of what contribution this currently-undeveloped area makes to those elements which contribute to the significance of this Historic Park and Garden and what effect the loss of this site and its subsequent development might have upon those significances.
