We suggest again that an alternative site for allocation should be that of the former Taylor’s Garage at the southern end of the village, which we have advocated for some time as the next sequentially preferable site for housing development in Bildeston. The scale, density and design of development must of course be sensitive to the location and address flood risk. Nevertheless giving priority to this site would be consistent with the NPPF in developing brownfield sites and avoiding unnecessary loss of agricultural land.

we consider that in addition to LA048 allocation
the settlement boundary should be extended at the south west edge of the village to include land north of Taylors Garage and south of the Primary School.

The site is well located in terms of facilities and services within the village and could be planned to provide
improved connections to these facilities from the south of the village. The site as shown on the plan provided offers a logical extension and rounding off the village, with the tree belt and Old River Brett to the west of the site providing a defensible boundary and edge to the village.
