BMSDC Joint Local Plan - Pre-Submission Reg19 (interactive) 2020

This site is under construction. The builder is cooperating with the village and keeping it informed. There has been a great deal of mess and inconvenience with road and drainage works but the village has accepted that this is all part of the acceptable level of growth . A vital piece of infrastructure is provided - land for the much needed health centre car park.

It is a shame that the draft JLP ignore the adjoining site for a further 40 houses and land for an extension to the existing school. This development also has favour in the village.

In its regulation 18 consultation response, SCC made several recommendations regarding site specific policies to inform developers and decision makers. The majority of these recommendations have been included in the plan, however some appear to have been missed. In order to align the plan with national policy (NPPF) and effective at protecting and enhancing Rights of Way, the missed recommendations should be included in site specific policies. SCC considers that the proposed modifications should be incorporated into the plan for it to be sound.

Change suggested by respondent:

Rights of Way within the site and within the vicinity of the site should be retained and enhanced to enable access to the countryside and active transport. There is an opportunity to connect rights of way to the north and the east of the site.
