Representation ID: 20812

Received: 14/12/2020

Respondent: Mr T Richardson

Agent: Wilson Wraight

In accordance with the NPPF standard methodology, the Plan must accommodate identified housing needs along with employment and community facilities and services in Babergh and Mid Suffolk, respectively. The confirmation of the above at Paragraph 1.10 and that the Plan will set out a strategy to accommodate this in full in accordance with national policy requirements, is supported. The acknowledgement that levels of housing need in the area are high and new homes will have to be provided to meet this need is welcomed.

Legally compliant? No

Sound? No

Duty to co-operate? No

There appears to be blind acceptance that the NPPF figures and the algorithms for growth are correct. These are now being challenged nationally.

MSDC appears to want more houses than the projected population growth indicates are necessary.

Change suggested by respondent:

The existing housing sites which are under construction already overwhelm the core villages along the A14 . Because the plan looks back to April 2018 it is already out of date and should be brought up to date before adoption.
